White Bay Power Station

With Yianni I drove out on Westconnex but made an error and ended up too far out making it necessary to turn around and go back. The show was dismal, like a mockup of a municipal art prize. A Bulldogs fan or an undercover cop, I couldn't work out which, asked us on the street what was on. Maybe both. Jane Bennet had some of her industrial studies there (see above), and we talked with her for a while. A bizarre fashion parade flounced down the centre of the building. I couldn't work out if someone was trolling us. In any case we drove away. Traffic forced us off Cleveland Street and we ended up in front of some sort of fake car accident. Real or no real we eventually got permission to drive down Elizabeth Street.  Actually I had wanted to go because Bernadette an artist had a photograph among the finalists. Not much competition. We didn't get to see her work in the end.

Discussing Sketch On Stage

Image
Met up with John and his friend Tammy at Calico in Redfern to have some lunch. We discussed Sketch On stage. John said it might be good to have a dry run sometime to test whether the pauses will be long enough. Tammy said offering wine would be a good idea. We had a short stroll after lunch, passing by the theatre we'll be using in October.

Drawings from Larapinta Tanya Baily - Tiliqua Tiliqua

Drove out to Enmore with Virginia to see these amazing watercolours. Even though the weather wasn't too good lots of people came to the show. I bought one of the paintings. We had some good discussions with different people including the artist. Tanya said she called the works drawings even though obviously they're paintings. I was impressed by the skilful way Tanya achieved depth in the field of view.

Sketch On Stage at Sydney Theatre Company

Last month we headed down to Barangaroo to view the STC. Michael (bottom right), me (top right), Austeja (left) and Sophie (middle). When it had all worked out we ended up booking Bondi Pavilion for the first show. We are planning to use STC also next year however. The reasons for the confusion are multiple. What's most important is that Bondi Pavilion will be offering tickets for sale from 20 September on their website.
